Like many of us, I wear many hats: Christian, husband, father, teacher, musician, conductor, lover of board games(ha!). Rather than describing myself, others might describe me as hard-working, energetic, and committed—at least I would hope they would! As a believer, ultimately I would want others to describe me as Christ-like. I really do take seriously our calling laid out in Ephesians 5:1—to be “imitators of God."

Originally from the Midwest, I recently completed my PhD in Conducting and Music Education at the University of Oklahoma. Headed into higher education, I’ve always wanted to serve at an institution that supported high-quality education, scholarship, and musicianship in a Christian environment. Whitworth University was the place! I am new to the music faculty at the university and will serve as the Associate Director of Choral Activities and Music Education. I believe in maintaining a strong relationship between the university and the local church, so Whitworth Church was a natural fit with my university responsibilities. Students entering college are transitioning into one of the most turbulent, impactful, and influential times of their lives, and it is imperative that the local church continually renew its call to minister to the local collegiate student body. I am thrilled to serve both Whitworth University and Whitworth Church
