The Way of the Cross: A Spokane Pilgrimage
Friday, April 3, 4–5:30pm
Good Friday reminds us that we are called to die to the violence around us. Join a coalition of churches in a walking Stations of the Cross, progressing at your own pace. Friday, April 3, 7 pm
Worship led by staff and pastors, remembering the last seven phrases Christ spoke from the cross.
He is Risen!
Come celebrate the resurrected Christ with friends and family. No gimmicks or giveaways, just the Whitworth Presbyterian community loving God and each other. Bring flowers to decorate the cross outside (a few will be provided)! With a GRAND fellowship time afterwards and the VBS registration open, this will quite a Sunday! (Grades PK-5 will have a super-sized Sunday School when dismissed from the service.)

Connect with the Missions Committee for breakfast and a presentation by Tamara Clausnitzer, Volunteer Program Manager at World Relief Spokane. Tamara will share World Relief’s latest priorities and how Whitworth Church can move from awareness to hands-on opportunities to serve.

We invite all people to journey with us this Lenten season, as it begins with the marking of ashes. If you can’t make it to the evening Ash Wednesday service, Pastor Sly and Rev. Bev will be offering the imposition of ashes from 12:00-2:00pm in the Welcome Center. Stop by any time during these 2 hours.

The Board of Elders (session) has called a special congregational meeting on Sunday, January 11 following the service for the purpose of electing a Nominating Committee (NomCom).
Grades 6-8 will meet from 5:00pm to 6:30pm on Wednesdays and will include dinner!
We will meet beginning on January 7th-28th. The classes will cover Introduction to Christianity (including sacraments, confessions, salvation, and Bible content) and hear stories of lived faith from current church members.

Bring your puzzles to trade! There will be a good selection of puzzles on the table in the Welcome Center after worship on Sunday, December 21.
Monthly Men’s Group will meet for a little Midrash conversation of Luke 1:46-55 (aka The Magnificat) at 10:00 am (after the Missions Breakfast)
This months mission is Side By Side. They offer several programs and gatherings, each of which is designed to bring people both with and without intellectual/developmental disabilities together, to build friendships. People with I/DD often travel through life in a separate lane. We think life is better when we’re together.
SAVE THE DATE!
We will meet at the church at 5pm on Friday, December 12th, eat pizza and practice carols, and then carpool over to the VA for some caroling (musical talent not required), before ending up at the Tallungan house for a cookie potluck. More information about pickup time to come. This is a family event, so anyone is welcome to come! We do ask that parents stay with kids 2nd grade and under, but 3rd-graders and up can be dropped off.
Bring a lunch dish to share as well as a wrapped ornament for exchange!
