Debby McConnell has been the organist at Whitworth Church for 4 years now and currently serves as the Director of Traditional Worship.  She loves working with the staff, the Sanctuary Choir and the Chancel Bells, as well as getting to know all the parishioners and helping enhance worship through music.  Originally from Missoula MT, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business and a minor in music and immediately set off for parts unknown with her Army husband. While stationed in Germany, she began her church career as pianist/choir director for ecumenical Protestant services, as well as leading a large joint German-American community choir.  She continued with a 15-year tenure as Director of Music at St. James Episcopal Church, near George Washington’s Mount Vernon Estate in Virginia. In 1999, she was awarded a Certificate in Church Music from the Virginia Episcopal Seminary and in 2009, received a Master’s degree in Arts Administration from George Mason University. She and her husband Don are enjoying semi-retirement on their acreage in Deer Park.
