So glad you’re here!
Our desire at Whitworth Church is for you to know Jesus Christ. No matter where you are in your faith journey, you are invited to join in a community of people striving to know Jesus through worship, serving others, and spiritual formation.
Worship Times
10:00 am whether you participate in person or online, via YouTube.
What to Expect?
Park in the big lot, or lock up your bike in the bike rack, and come on in! You will be greeted by deacons or a pastor who can direct you and your family to the Sanctuary or proper Sunday School rooms.
Our worship services last approximately 60 minutes.
We serve communion on the first Sunday of the month, with gluten free bread and grape juice for everyone.
We invite all gathered in worship to a time of greeting and connection wherein you can get to know people near you.
After worship, we have doughnuts, coffee, and more connection in our Welcome Center (right by the front doors).
What to Wear?
You’ll find a mix of styles at Whitworth Church, with some dressing very casually (shorts and T-shirt), others in business casual, and still others in suit and tie. We dress as we are comfortable to worship God. Watch some of our archived services and you’ll see our “vibe”!
Who’s in charge here?
Our leadership comes from a group of elected officers called Session. The senior pastor moderates that board, but all decision are made as a group.
On Sunday morning, worship leadership comes from our pastors—Daniel and Jamie—and our worship team. Our worship is a shared style—mixing traditional and contemporary elements; not blended, but sharing the importance of generational ministry in word, music, and sacrament.
What about my kids?
We. Love. Kids! Our nursery is open for walkers to Pre-K during the whole services. You will be given a pager in case there is a need. Of course, there is a family room next door where you can watch the service in progress while you attend to the needs of your child. It isn’t just lip service: we love the sound of children in worship. “Make a joyful noise” and all that!
Our Children’s Ministry department takes seriously their charge to bring up the children in the way of the Lord, though it may look a little messy and sound a bit loud! Kids (ages Pre-K-5th grade) have their own worship on Sunday mornings. Check with the front door greeters where they are meeting that day.
And teenagers? A blessing from God! We have a mixed Sunday School for middle schoolers and high schoolers during the worship hour in the Youth Room. They eat pancakes, drink decaf coffee, and study God’s word for their lives with our youth staff. Sometimes they are asked to participate in worship. Ask at the front door where they are meeting that day.
